Throughout history gemstones were coveted for their medical, religious and mystical meaning. From ancient times though the eighteenth-century agate was considered to be a stone who guarded against insomnia, protected you from danger and endowed you with a bold heart.

For a fascinating look into gems and their symbolic meanings, see the tome “The Curious Lore of Precious Stones”? by George Frederick Kunz, the explorer who gave Kunzite its name.

An egg-shaped cabochon of striated brown coloration has been polished to a high gloss. At the top is a saw-tooth edged cap of high carat yellow gold (tests over 22k) with a double “O”? fitting wrapped with gold wire. At the bottom a gold five petal flower shaped fitting secures the top “O”? element.

On one side of the pendant is a series of ovoid striated markings ranging in hue from gray to caramel to coco. The rest of the amulet is chocolaty brown. Need a chain? Just contact us.
