Ever heard of a pointed cut diamond? It was one of the earliest cuts of diamonds and used the natural crystal structure of a raw diamond and sometimes was minimally faceted or left as it was mined and so formed a point.

This Art Deco ring, while set with an aquamarine, has a Renaissance air about it. Why? The aquamarine is set upside down so that the point is upward. With its pale coloration, and when worn, it almost resembles a pointed cut diamond.

Often Renaissance rings have the overall shape of a diamond, so with those factors and the filigree yellow gold work…voila, a ring with a decidedly 500 year old vibe.

We love this so much, it’s worth repeating. Tell us what you think?

Details: 14k yellow gold; diamond shaped aquamarine of .90 carats.
