This Georgian era bracelet is one of the best examples of its type that has had the good fortune to offer.

Emanating from a tradition of opulence and grandness, the piece is scaled accordingly (translation wide and wonderful) and consists of a repouss ornate clasp and articulated links, all dotted with Persian turquoise.

Starting with the breathtaking clasp…it is oval in shape and three-dimensional. Shell-like volutes and waves of gold flow between three-petal flowers. At the center, nearly hidden is stippled textured gold. A central raised oval swirls with more repousee and at the apex rests another natural turquoise.

Looking at the reverse there is a small glass-covered locket compartment filled with a fine and unusual mat of braided hair.

For the links, nine panels vary from five to four and once again were constructed with hollow repouss. Raised “bows” hold turquoise cabochons between each rounded, oval link. The entire jewel is 18k yellow gold.

It is housed in its original, fitted box of cream silk and tan velvet to the interior. Its exterior is maroon paper resembling leather with the original “U” shaped, swivel clasps.
