The last decades of the Georgian period (1714-1840) saw a revival in romanticism with a smaller scale popular for finger rings.

In remarkable condition, this circa 1840’s antique ring was conceived and created in 15k yellow gold, natural saltwater pearls and an amethyst.

An oval cluster at the center houses the amethyst (.15 carats) in a serrated bezel. Eight half natural saltwater pearls encircle the gemstones, with three more on each side. All are set closed backed.

Leaf life motifs in gold form a spray of textured gold on the shoulders transitioning to a horizontal band and then to a reeded tapered shank.
