The 1950’s and into the 1960’s were the pinnacle of design Longines U.S. market dress watches. While many of their Swiss made designs were more traditional, some of their U.S. market pieces were made to capture the imagination of the less restrained American market that would soon be embracing designs like the ’57 Chevy and ’59 Cadillac fin.
These dress wristwatches combined one of the company’s very well-crafted movements with a captivating case and dial design, creating a watch that has a distinctive style and meets elevated timekeeping standards.
Today’s offering showcases this rare models that wonderfully showcases the drama and elegance of 1950’s design. From the original solid gold case to the guilloche dial and fine Longines handwound movement, each component exhibits the style and precision one expects from Longines.
Its parts are all original, and it presents in beautiful condition. The solid gold case is better than near mint. The attractive dial has been previously professionally restored. And the high-grade movement is quite pristine.
