As evidenced by the inscription in this band, “N.C. to G.F.C. Sep. 2-14” both bride and groom’s initials are hand engraved to the interior in script, as well as that memorable date.

In 14k yellow gold, it is marked with the maker, J.R. Wood of New York, New York. Just under 1/4 inch wide (just under 6 mm), it is “D” shaped or has a slight curvature.
