Today’s offering showcases this classicand original Breitling”Sprint” chronograph. It has a great distinctive late ’60’s retro look that the original orange hand compliments.
Breitling designed the Sprint line to be an affordable timing instrument for athletes and equipped it with a rotating bezel.
To power it they used the reliable Breitling finished workhorse Valjoux 7730 movement with 45-minute timing system.
Its original dial was given an easy to read dial with contrasting “panda” black registers in a surfboard shaped section. The dial on this one is an uncommon version with no scales around the edge…most have tachometer or pulsations.
Its full size stainless steel case measures 38mm in diameter not including the crown.
It’s all original down to even its original crystal and in very pleasing condition. A Master Watchmaker has overhauled the movement. The chronograph resets strongly and precisely to 12, and it continues to keep time in five chronometer positions on par with some brand new Rolexes that we’ve owned.
For the finishing touch is has been equipped with a carbon fiber strap with contrast stitching making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Like always included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Breitling info:
“There has never been anyone in a plane’s cockpit without a Breitling … on his wrist — or who would at least wished to have one.” – Musings of an aviation journalist
Embraced by pilots since the dawning of aeronautics, Breitling watches are the only ones that grace the wrists of the world’s elite aerobatic groups, namely the Blue Angels, the Thunderbirds, The British Red Arrows, and the Russian Knights.
